More currencies, fewer problems.
Routable's international payments platform continues to grow! We've added the ability to send US dollars (USD), British pounds (GBP), or Euros (EUR) to any of our more than 200 Supported Countries and Territories via the SWIFT network. Of course, if the vendor's local currency is not one of those three but is supported by our platform, the vendor will continue to receive that currency as well. The Routable API will automatically detect what currency is expected by the vendor's receiving bank account, and the vendor will receive funds in that currency. You don't need to change anything in your Payable API requests to use this new feature!
You don't need to worry about converting, either -- when you specify the currency_code
in your Create a Payable call, you're telling us what currency you're being billed in. So, if you say currency_code: USD
, then the amount
of the Payable is in USD, even if your vendor is going to receive euros or any other currency. We'll do the math and make sure your vendor gets exactly what they expect.
By default, sending GBP and EUR to countries where they aren't the local currency is disabled for Routable customers in the United States. You can activate these additional options using the Routable Dashboard under
Payment Methods
in theAccount Settings
area.
Speaking of currencies, we've also added support for the following currencies and delivery methods:
π§π¬ Bulgarian lev (BGN) via SWIFT | π΅π± Polish zloty (PLN) via International ACH |
π¨πΏ Czech koruna (CZK) via International ACH | π·π΄ Romanian leu (RON) via International ACH |
π©π° Danish krona (DKK) via International ACH | πΈπͺ Swedish krona (SEK) via International ACH |
ππΊ Hungarian forint (HUF) via International ACH | π¨π Swiss franc (CHF) via SWIFT |
π³π΄ Norwegian krone (NOK) via International ACH |
Again, no change is needed to your Payable creation calls to take advantage of these improvements.
