Qapla'! Routable's stellar payments API goes even further!
Back in April 2024, we were proud to announce the first-ever interplanetary funds transfers API. Since then, in partnership with NASA and JAXA, the interplanetary rail has been expanded to include Saturn and all of its major moons, Mercury, Uranus, and Neptune, as well as dwarf planets Pluto (and its largest moon Charon), Ceres, Eris, Haumea, Makemake, and Sedna. Truly, wherever the light of our sun touches, so too does Routable's API.
With the initial 2024 release of interplanetary Payables, we added two optional fields to the interplanetary Payable payload: galaxy_code and solar_system_code. These defaulted to MW for the Milky Way and SO for the Sol system, as these were the only options available.
Notice I said were - in the past tense.
Today, Routable is proud to announce the release of our first wave of extrasolar, and in some cases intergalactic, payment rails. As part of this offering, we've had to add several new currency_codes as well. Don't worry, the Retrieve a Country and Estimate Currency Conversions and Fees endpoints have been expanded to accept galaxy_code, solar_system_code and planet_code as parameters, so you can still reliably get a list of all the currencies and rails available, as well as the current exchange rates. The same interplanetary Payable schema works for all extrasolar funds transfers; you'll just need to ensure you populate the galaxy_code and solar_system_code fields.
