Contact

Contacts are individuals at a Company with whom we can communicate.

Companies have Contacts that can be the recipient of messages pertaining to the company. You may not send Payables or Receivables to a Company that does not contain at least one associated Contact. At least one Contact must be created at the same time as the parent Company, but a company can have contacts added, archived and updated at a later time via the Contacts API.

Examples of when a Contact might receive an email include:

  • Being invited to submit their company and banking information.
  • Being notified that they've been paid.

To make it easier to work with our APIs, we have default_contact_* fields that specify which contacts will receive what types of notifications.
